VAINS of JENNA formed in the small town of Falkenberg, SWEDEN in January 2005. Soon after the band was offered a chance to play the world-famous “Whisky-A-Go-Go” in Hollywood. They stunned the crowd with their raw energy, young bravado, and sleazy throwback appeal. At the time half the members were a month removed from high school. Four days later, they were cutting a demo with Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N’ Roses). That winter the band wrote, recorded, rehearsed and played all over Sweden. Then in the spring of 2006 they toured Southern Europe and spent one month in the U.K. winning over critics and fans by gigging at night and sleeping in their silver Volvo station wagon in an alley by day.
The band was back in Hollywood in the summer of 2006 and attracted the attention of Bam Margera (MTV’s Viva La Bam/Jackass) who signed the band on the spot. Their debut full length was titled “Lit Up-Let Down” and hit stores in October 2006 (Filthy Note Records). A half dozen US tours followed; most notably a 55 date amphitheatre tour supporting Poison & Ratt. Others included the “Viva La Bands” theatre tour (GWAR/Cradle of Filth) and club runs with Wednesday 13 (Murderdolls) and Fireball Ministry.
Along the way the band turned more industry heads at The Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles, SxSW in Texas, Hempfest in Seattle & Sweden Rock. Add in relentless club tours from Las Vegas to New York City, from London to Copenhagen to Pisa Italy! All the while sharing the stage with everyone who rocks: The Donnas, Michael Monroe (Hanoi Rocks), Chelsea Girls, Bullets N’ Octane, Dizzy Reed (Guns n’ Roses), The Last Vegas, Viking Skull, Crashdiet, LA Guns and the Sunset Strip legends Steel Panther.
After playing nearly 300 live shows in a few years time, the band spent 2008 writing and recording new music in California. They also appeared on “Jackass 24” (MTV) & “LA INK” (Kat Von D). The bands single “Enemy in Me” (Viva La Bands-2 Soundtrack/Ferret Music) was featured on both. After 30 months in the states they returned to Europe and played sold out shows in SWEDEN, ITALY, DENMARK and ENGLAND. In the fall of 2009 they released “The Art Of Telling Lies" to rave 5 star reviews and did another 50+ date US club tour with young rock comrades Dirty Penny.
March 2010 the band has evolved with a shocking yet welcome change! The band introduces Jesse Forte as their new lead singer & front man for VAINS of JENNA. The bands musical back bone Nicki Kin lead guitars, JP White on bass and drummer Jacki Stone are excited as to what the bands future holds. Look for VAINS of JENNA touring Europe starting April 2010.
